Water filtration experiment

1-Why is  this experience or invention useful ? What is its usefulness?
This experience is useful because after the filtration we can drink the dirty water
2-What are the materials or products used?
1/2 L of swamp water (or tap water with mud or dirt added)
2 L soda pop bottle with its lid
2 L plastic soda pop bottle—cut in half (have an adult help with cutting)
1000 ml beaker
2 20 oz cups
1 tbsp alum (aluminum potassium sulfate)
2 c fine sand
1 c coarse sand
1 c small pebbles
1 filter paper or coffee filter
1 rubber band
1 large spoon for stirring
spoon for scooping the alum
stopwatch or timer
3- What do you have to do to achieve the experience?
Can you describe precisely the different steps to achieve the experience or the invention?
1) Pour the dirty water in a 2 liter bottle with a lid
2) shake vigorously for 30 seconds then pour the water between the two cup about 10 times
3) pour the water in the bottle
4) add 2 cofeespoons  of special sal to the water in the bottle with a top cup off. Stir slowly the water for the 5 minutes.
5) Now let the water rest for 20 minutes
6) secure the filter paper to the mouth of the bottle and put it upside down in the beaker.
7) Then pour the pebbles and the sand in the bottle
8) pour the two litters of clean water
9) Pour 2/3 of the swamp water through the filter
4- What are the various difficulties met to achieve the experience or the invention
The difficulty met to achieve the experience is to find the different materials and products necessary.
5- In which fields can we use this experiment? ( industry, medical field,  sports field, environment, everyday life )
We can use this experiment in the environment by filtering dirty water in the nature
6- Explain the reasons why you chose this experiment and why it appealed to you?

We chose this experiment because it’s very useful for the environment

    This experience is made for all ages. It can be really useful to survive. It is a good way to filter water but it does not surprise us.
